Why aren't my rummy-nose tetra eating flakes?

I bought them a few days ago. I thought tetras eat tetra flakes but these guys will put the flakes in there mouths then spit them back out. Is it the type of flakes that I have (tetracolor) or do they just prefer other types of food?

Okay, the problem is that fish won't eat something that they don't recognize. Obviously they don't feed on flake food in the wild so that is why they are probably not eating it. Feed they some sort of frozen food (Frozen bloodworms or frozen brine shrimp) they will eat those. Then don't feed them at all for 3 days and put some flake food in the water. Then at their next feeding day feed them some frozen food again. Then at their next meal time feed them flake food. They will eat it now.
Good Luck!! My experience with rummy nose tetras
