Please help me figure out what kind of dog I have...They said she was an America

I got my puppy from the humane society, where they said she was a 3-month old American Staffordshire Terrier . She is now 7 months (if they were correct about her age), and she is still very short and light (25lb) and and not muscular enough to be an Am Staff...I think she might be a mix. She has little paws. pics- http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cf...

Shelters don't always know the breeds of animals coming in. They're often found as strays or they rely on whatever the owner has told them. Most shelters will put the word "mix" unless it's absolutely apparent that the animal looks identical to that particular breed.

Odds are your dog isn't purebred if it doesn't look like the breed. Plus there's so much crossbreeding of Pit Bulls, Staffordshires, American Bulldogs, Boxers, etc. Just love your dog for what it is - a mutt. And being a mutt it'll probably end up living longer and healthier than if it was purebred. Active volunteer with the world's largest cats only no-kill shelter and over twenty years volunteering. Several of those years was as an adoption counselor at a Humane Society and I was often the one to guess at a dog's mix. We would NEVER put down that a dog is a specific breed unless it absolutely looked like that breed nor should other shelters. It's misleading.
