She is going to be 3 years old in August. She's a german shep/ shiba inu mix. Long and low to the ground basically. She has never had any health problems before, current on all shots, and to add.. she has regular teeth brushings. But last week I noticed that everywhere she laid, when she got up, there was a wet spot. The first time I smelt it and it was pee, so I figured that she had just been licking the floor again. But I just noticed that there are a few wet spots that I can see right now... and my floor is free of the kids' cereal. So I looked it up and saw that doing something to the anal glands might help this. Is this the case?

Is your dog spayed? She is too young to have old age incontinence, so it's possible that it is spay incontinence. I couldn't smell pee when my old dog first started leaking, and shibas are supposed to be really good about keeping themselves clean, so it may not be floor licking. If it is spay incontinence (or any other pee leakage problem) there are drugs that do a great job available from your vet. The drugs worked wonders on 15 year old girl! 100% 1 Vote
