well i will be turning 14 in jun 29 2008, and i really need a job to help me in some way, and i dont know that i i can babysit people or not, or do i need a something working licence to work for other people. and i live in LA temple city on Resemead BLVD., and i want to fond a job thats not so far so i can bike there, and the job must be part time job, or else i dont have time to goto school, ty for all of u!!!!!

Look for a place close to your home. You are old enough to work in California.
CA Labor Code 1294.3: "Minors 14 and 15 years of age may be employed in occupations not otherwise prohibited by this chapter, including, but not limited to, the following:
(a) Office and clerical work, including the operation of office machines.
(b) Cashiering, selling, modeling, art work, work in advertising departments, window trimming, and comparative shopping.
(c) Price marking and tagging by hand or by machine, assembling orders, packing and shelving.
(d) Bagging and carrying out customers' orders.
(e) Errand and delivery work by foot, bicycle, and public transportation.
(f) Cleanup work, including the use of vacuum cleaners and floor waxers, and maintenance of grounds, but not including the use of power-driven mowers or cutters.
(g) Kitchen work and other work involved in preparing and serving food and beverages, including the operation of machines and devices used in the performance of this work, including, but not limited to, dishwashers, toasters, dumbwaiters, popcorn poppers, milkshake blenders, and coffee grinders.
(h) Cleaning vegetables and fruits, and wrapping, sealing, labeling, weighing, pricing, and stocking goods when performed in areas physically separate from areas where meat is prepared for sale and outside freezers or meat coolers."
You will need a work permit while in school. Put in an application and go back to each business each week to check on the status of your application. This lets the business owner know you are serious about wanting to work. The key word is work. If you are looking for work and not a job (something to collect only a pay check) employers will be interested in you.
