I started working at mcdonalds about a week ago, and they have started me on the front counter. I am doing just terrible at taking orders though, but I think if I just knew where evreything was or what all the abbriviations stand for then I could do it! Our Mcdonalds has a touch screen for ordering. If that is any help. I know I heard something about a McDonald's online employee training program but I can't seem to find it online.

If someone could get me pictures, or charts, or a list of abriviations, or a link to a site that has online training.... almost anything would be a help! Even a list of their menue items, and what goes with what meals. Thanks! :D

Congratulations on your new job. McDonald's does have on-line training, but I think it is targeted for Manager's and Franchise Owners.

I would suggest that you ask the Manager for training materials. It should be available during your orientation and/or on-the-job training.

If not, then get a photo using your cell or camera and print it out when you get home. For the abbreviations, if there is no list available, then you might start keeping a small pad of paper nearby and jot them down.

Sometimes when you first start a new job it seems overwhelming, but you will catch on rather quickly. You'll be the Expert in no time and may even have the opportunity to teach others what you are about to learn.
