1)Sicilian Mafia. Based in Italy, USA, Australia, 10s of thousands of members, they are what most people think of if you say organised crime.
2)Yakuza. Over 86,000 members, the crazy japs have also branched out into America, Mexico and Australia.
3)Russian Mafia. Shady business men running the streets of the former soviet republic. Is Roman Abromavich one of them? Probaly
4)Ulster Defence Association . Loyalist paramilitary often used organised crime to fund their street wars. Only in Ireland however.
5) The Firm. Criminal gang active in the East End of london in the 60s. Was ran by a bisexual paranoid schizophrenic and a cockney momma's boy. The Krays were true gentlemen

I don't the name of the gang, but their theft was clever, and they were never caught. I heard about this crime when I was living in Asia, and it's considered the perfect crime!

Three international businessmen were having a conversation with some Arab oil sheiks. The conversation got around to food, and one of the Arabs mentioned that the most tender beef in the world is actually Japanese--Kobe beef. The Kobe beef cows are only raised in Japan, and their numbers are strictly controlled. Because the meat is Japanese in origin, the price is extremely high! The Arabs mentioned that they would pay a lot for their own supply of Kobe beef. Numbers were tossed around, and finally one of the businessmen said, "I could get you Kobe beef cows of your very own, for $120 million." The Arabs agreed!

Enlisting his two friends, the bsuinessman made careful arrangements, and then, posing as international inspectors, the three men went to Japan and gained access to a veterinary hospital. They broke into a laboratory and, using a portable liquid nitrogen container they stole vials containing Kobe beef sperm!

They then flew to Kuwait where the Arabs paid them $120 million via direct deposit into Swiss Bank accounts!
